In 1994, Duart Hardwood Stairs & Flooring had its beginning as a small shop in Windsor Junction, NS. The location was chosen mainly to take advantage of some available used equipment from a previous woodworking enterprise. Our humble beginning included 2 employees, a 600 square foot shop, and sales of $60,000.

From our first day of business we tried to remain focused on a primary objective - “Complete Customer Satisfaction”. We learned early to recognize and take advantage of opportunities as they presented themselves. We were quickly recognized for our high quality and custom craftsmanship in the manufacturing of hardwood staircase components.

Expansion of our facilities was necessary to maintain the demand for our products and our standard of ‘Complete Customer Satisfaction’. In 1999, we opened a showroom and moved into our new retail premises. A year later, we moved our manufacturing facility to the same location to have our complete operation under the same roof.

Growth dictated further expansion. In March, 2006, we relocated to new facilities in Dartmouth, NS. This move launched innovative growth in the Nova Scotian stairs and hardwood market place.

It is 2007, we have 6 employees, a 7500 square foot facility and sales in excess of $2,000,000.

For the future, our objectives remain consistent: To be Nova Scotia’s largest manufacturer of hardwood stair case components by providing ‘Complete Customer Satisfaction’.
